- Perform in solo recitals and chamber music performances.
- Participate in local youth symphony or All State ensemble flute auditions and competitions.
A typical lesson:
- Warm-ups and tone exercises.
- Scales and etudes.
- Solo pieces spanning the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and contemporary periods.
- Troubleshooting of fundamental concepts – vibrato, breathing, sound production, articulation and technique.
